JoAnn J. Martinez, 78, of Evans, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, Colorado.

JoAnn was born on July 31, 1948, in Walsenburg, Colorado, to Guillermo and Teresina (Duran) Casias. She married the love of her life, Peter Martinez, in Walsenburg. In 1980, JoAnn and Peter moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico, where they lived until 1996, when they returned to Colorado and made their home in Evans.

JoAnn worked for RR Donnelly & Sons before becoming a mother. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. JoAnn enjoyed crocheting and especially treasured the memories made while spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Martinez; her sons, Brian Martinez and Ryan Martinez; her daughter, Terry Padilla; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a sister, Bernice Cordova.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo and Teresina Casias, as well as 9 brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado.
