JoBeth "Jobie" Berry, 90, of Windsor, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Hospice Pathways Inpatient Care Center in Fort Collins.
She was born May 1, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas to Walter Corbett and Rena (Batey) Allison. She graduated from Edison High School in San Antonio and went on to attend Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas. On June 4, 1953, JoBeth married Hugh Lawrence Berry in San Antonio, and they were stationed in various cities with the United States Air Force. As a result of her husband's employment with United Air Lines in 1956, they moved to Denver, then Broomfield, Colorado. They relocated to Saratoga, California, 1969 - 2000, before moving to Lincoln Hills, California after Hugh's retirement. She made her last move to Windsor, Colorado, in 2018, to be close to her family.
JoBeth came to faith in Jesus Christ early in her life. As her faith deepened over the years, it sustained her through many challenges. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always encouraging her family, especially in the pursuit of education.
JoBeth and Hugh traveled extensively, and also enjoyed many years seeing the United States in their motor home. They were skilled Square-Dancers and for many years were part of the Rafter Rockers group in Lincoln, California. She belonged to, and held many offices, at various churches over the years, as well as P.E.O. and Saratoga Airline Pilots Wives. She also served on many committees at Good Samaritan Water Valley. Swimming and walking were her favorite pastimes.
She is survived by her son, Guy (Janet) Berry of University Place, Washington, her daughters, Kris (Wayne) Howard of Greeley, Colorado, and Allison (Guy) Martin of San Juan Capistrano, California, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rena Allison, a brother, Andy Allison, and her husband, Hugh Berry.
A Memorial Open House was held for friends and family at Good Samaritan Water Valley in Windsor. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
