Joe O. Cordova, 80, of Lucerne, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit.

He was born June 10, 1936 in San Luis, Colorado to Onofre & Estefanita (Sandoval) Cordova. In 1956, he graduated from Greeley High School. He served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard. Joe met Beatrice Martinez and fell in love, and on October 26, 1959, they married at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Together they would move and settle in Lucerne, Colorado. He was employed by Monfort from the mid 60’s until 1982. He then worked for Kodak of Colorado from the mid 80’s until his retirement in 1998. Joe was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.

He is survived by his sons, Steve, Paul, David & Randy Cordova, his daughters-in-law, Karla Shapley-Cordova, Laura Cordova, and Cassandra Cordova, his brother, Adolph and his wife Cathy Cordova of Denver, a sister, Mary Espinosa of Pueblo, and 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Cordova, his parents, Onofre and Estefanita Cordova, his half-sister, Cascilda Albert, half-brothers, Alfonso Lucero, Pete Taylor and Tommy Taylor and his sister Catarina Mondragon.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 915 12th Street in Greeley. Interment will follow at Linn Grove Cemetery.
