Jose "Joe" Martinez, 72 of Greeley, died on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at the North Colorado Medical Center. He was born on May 3, 1939 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Evaristo and Luciana (Sanchez) Martinez. Joe worked for Blue Bird Mobile Homes in Greeley for the past seven years. Survivors include 9 sisters, Rosie Recek, Dora DeLeon, Della Gomez, Sandy Brassfield, Dorothy Vigil, Sadie Hernandez, Elsa Christiansen, Luann Rogers and Janet Martinez all of Denver; 4 brothers, Greg, Phillip, Charlie and Wilfred Martinez also of Denver; his children, Charlene Rubio, Steven and Vangie Martinez, Corinna Martinez , Arnold and Mary Martinez , Wendy and Larry Mizunaga; his grandchildren; Tara Rubio, Richard and Shondell Martinez, Heather Aragon, Jeremy, Julian, Joel , Shyanne Martinez, Miriah, Victoria, Joel Retana, Fumiko and Suki Mizunaga; his great grandchildren, Janea Alvarado, Jayden & Dylan Montejano, Isis Aragon, Kyra and Davion Martinez and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Evaristo and Luciana Martinez; 2 sisters, Mary Hernandez and Dolores Martinez and a brother, Nicholas Martinez. A funeral service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. Interment will be in the Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
