John Eddy passed away on April 26, 2023, while living in Costa Mesa, CA. He was born in Greeley, Colorado on March 26, 1988, to Dave and Patty Eddy.

John graduated from Greeley Central High School in 2006. Those years were filled with sports, football, track, and friends. His senior year he qualified for state in discus and the 100-meter dash. He was also chosen for All State in football.

He earned a full scholarship to play football at the University of Northern Colorado while studying psychology. He excelled on the football field and earned First Team All-Big Sky conference honors his senior year. John went on to try out for the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins before playing a year of professional football for the Sioux Falls Storm.

He loved fishing, all things sports, pick-up games with his dad & brothers, and hanging out with friends, especially his best friend Bud the bulldog. And everyone will attest that when John was around, it was all about fun and adventure!

John's biggest trait was his kind, compassionate heart. His mission in life was to help others, be it family, friends, or strangers. He had the gift of "noticing the unnoticeable", making everyone feel valued. He lived out his faith by doing random acts of kindness every day of his life. He was an incredible son, loving brother, uncle, and caring friend.

He leaves behind his parents, Dave & Patty Eddy, brother Ross & brother David, his wife Zolis, and nephews Elijah, Kaius, and Leo Eddy, and is preceded in death by his grandparents Edward & Wilma Metz-Atwell, David W. Eddy, Shirley Eddy-Hatfield, and Uncle Michael Eddy.

We will miss you John Eddy, but we know you're now with Jesus. So, until we see you again, grab onto the wings of the angels and soar!

A celebration of life will be held on May 24, 2023, at 1pm at Christ Community Church, 1301 15th St. Greeley, CO 80631. Reception following.
