John Wayne Williams, 76 of Greeley, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit. He was born on January 10, 1938 in Greeley to Willie Albert and Mildred Frances (Gibson) Williams. John lived in Greeley for most of his life and graduated from the Evans High school in 1956. He later served in the U.S. Marines from 1957 until he was honorably discharged in 1960. He married Marlene Shirley Arnold in 1959. She preceded him in death in 1983. Mr. Williams was an avid artist who enjoyed painting using various medium, creating tooled leather works and scroll saw wood art. He enjoyed reading, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his two daughters and their husbands, Cherry and Bobby Salazar of Lovleand and Sheila and Steve Brown of New Castle, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Cassandra Castanon, Beau Kitzis and Chelsea Retzer and husband Ron baker and 4 great grandchildren, Kyrah, Chenney and Brianna Castanon and Wyatt Baker. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. Military honors will be held.
