Johnnie E. Jakel, 69, of Keenesburg, die on Sunday April 8, 1007 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit in Greeley.
He was born on June 28, 1937 in Ft. Lupton, Colorado to John and LaVerne (Sloan) Jakel.
Mr. Jakel married Patricia A. Hornsby on February 14, 1958 in Brighton, Colorado.
He graduated from Keenesburg High School in 1955 and has lived in the Keenesburg area for his entire life. He was a member of the Christ Community Church of Roggen. Johnnie enjoyed farming and the outdoors and especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. "Pat" Jakel of Keenesburg; 2 sons and their wives, Brian & Christine Jakel of Greeley and Randy & Denise Jakel of Roggen, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Brett and Joel Jakel both of Roggen and Paige Jakel of Greeley; a sister and her husband, Shirley and Ed Sirios of Roggen; a brother and his wife, Robert & Marlene Jakel of Enumclaw, Washington; a sister in law, Karan Jakel of Pueblo, Colorado and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Jakel.
Johnnie's wishes were to have no services at this time. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
