Jose De La Luz Silva's Obituary
Jose De La Luz Silva, Sr., 80, of Evans, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born December 9, 1938 in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua, Mexico to Andres & Micaela (Salas) Silva. On July 26, 1976, he married Sara Bejar in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. They moved to Greeley in 1979 and in 2003, he then moved to Evans, Colorado. Jose worked as a laborer doing farm work and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Silva, a son, Jaime Silva, of Austin, Texas, daughters, Cintia B. of Greeley & Diana Silva of Evans, sisters, Manuela Salas, Elvira Guzman, and Maria Medrano, all of Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents, Andres & Micaela Silva, a son Leobardo Martin Silva, and 3 brothers, Faustino, Valentin, and Sacramento Baylon.
A funeral mass will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd St, in Greeley. A visitation will also be on Monday from 3:30-7:30 p.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans.
