Jose L. Ortiz of Johnstown joined his eternal family very peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Society. He was 81 years old

Jose was born on August 6, 1934 to Nicolas and Mercedes Lopez Ortiz in Praxedis G Guerrero, Chihuahua, Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his two brothers, Nicolas and Geronimo, and an infant sister, Eustolia.

Jose is survived by one sister, Juana Maria and husband Ruben Ramirez from Johnstown, Colorado; a brother, Ricardo Ortiz from Juarez, Mexico; his nephews, Estevan Ortiz and Francisco Ortiz from Juarez, Mexico, Robert (Nellie) Ramirez from Johnstown, Colorado, and Santos Montes from Idaho; his nieces, Rosa (Pablo) Garcia from Milliken, Colorado, and Yolanda Ramirez from Milliken, Colorado; as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, 1000 Country Acres Drive in Johnstown. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday also at the church. Interment immediately following at Johnstown Cemetery.
