Josefina C. Garza, 64, of Greeley, died on Friday, September 7, 2007 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit. She was born on June 13, 1943 in Three Rivers, Texas to Pedro and Lenora (Garcia) Chavarria. Josefina married Pablo Garza in Brownfield, Texas on December 13, 1958. The couple lived in Eaton from 1971 until 1997 when they moved to Greeley. She was a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family and she especially enjoyed spending time with her only grandchild, Nicholas. She liked sewing, embroidery and listening to music. Josefina was baptized on July 19, 1978 as a Jehovah's Witness and has been a member of the church since that time. Survivors include her husband, Pablo Garza of Greeley; 2 daughters, Olivia Garza of Greeley and Sylvia Garcia of Colorado Springs; a son, Paul Garza of Greeley; a grandson, Nicholas Garza and 3 brothers, Ramon Chavarria of San Marcos, Texas, Eugene Chavarria of Hobbs, New Mexico and Pedro Chavarria Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Lenora Chavarria and a sister, Teresa Cuellar. A memorial service to celebrate Josefina's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3408 W. 34th Street Road in Greeley. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Monday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans.
