Joseph “Joe” Cruz, 84, of Greeley passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado.
He was born July 13, 1933 to Isabel & Carmen Marie (Duran) Cruz in Kersey, Colorado. He married Charlotte Dickenson in Denver. Joe was a father, husband and provider. His education ended early when he joined the family in the fields doing migrant work. This helped instill a great work ethic that he carried his whole life. He worked for 15 years for Allen Bean and Smith Beanery. Later he retired from Monfort’s Meat Packing Plant after 35 years.
He enjoyed riding his bike and being outside. For those that knew Joe, they knew he was always doing something he enjoyed, being active.
Survivors include sons, David (Cristine) Dickenson, Bobby & Anthony Cruz, a daughter, Ruby Torres, brothers, John, Victor, Ray, Manuel, and Albert Cruz, sisters, Mary Ann Archibeque, Carol Martinez, Isabelle Cruz, Simona Rodriguez and Mary Helen Martinez. 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Joe was preceded by his parents, wife, Charlotte Cruz and daughter, Joanne Cruz.

A funeral service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans.
Reception to follow at noon at the Garden City V.F.W. 2514 7th Avenue in Greeley.
