Juanita Romero, 92, of Greeley, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2020 at North Colorado Medical Center.
She was born January 18, 1928 in Seguin, Texas to Francisco & Juanita (Perez) Tobar. She lived most of her life in Denver, Colorado before moving to and living in Greeley for the last 30 years. In May 1995, she married Jesus M. Romero in Greeley.
Juanita worked at various jobs including, cleaning, laundry and field work. She attended St. Peter Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and made pillows, blankets and decorated picture frames. She enjoyed adding sparkle to everything. She loved dancing and music. Her greatest love, though, was her family. She loved spending time and being with them.
She is survived by her husband, Jesus M. Romero, a son, Luis (Lyn) Hernandez, Jr. of Frederick, Colorado, a daughters, Adeline Sanchez of Greeley, Colorado, Alice Garcia of Littlefield, TX, and Rita (Willie) Hernandez of Littlefield, TX, her 4 sisters, Angelina Castillega and Yolanda Sanchez, both of Greeley, Alicia Sanchez of Patterson, California, and Rosa Flores of Tomillo, Texas, 6 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco & Juanita Tobar, her first husband, Luis Hernandez, a daughter, Anita B. Hernandez, her brothers, Isaac (Lupe) Tobar, Andres Tobar, Santos Tobar, and Marcos Tobar, and a sister, Elvira Perez Mendez.
A Celebration of Juanita’s life will be held at a later date.
