Judith “Judy” Wayman (King) Scott, 70, was called to her Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Judy was born on April 28, 1947, in Washington, D.C., to George Lewis and Wanda Ruth (Wayman) King. She grew up and received her education in D.C. and Annandale, VA, graduating from high school in 1965. She furthered her education at Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA and later began working for the Federal Government and the Department of the Navy as an administrative assistant until 1975. During this time, she met Arnold Scott during a first aid and CPR class, they were later married on May 17, 1969 in Annandale. Judy raised her children and had a home child care for other children. The family moved to Aurora, CO in 1983 and later to Gill, CO in 1993. From 1995, Judy worked for the Northern Colorado Disposal as a bookkeeper until 2005.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing and camping. Her greatest joy was volunteering for the Galeton Volunteer Fire Department along with assisting and walking in the PanCan in Golden.
Judy is survived by her husband, Arnold Scott of Gill; children, Jennifer Susan Scott of Evans, Stephanie Lynn (Brian) Timko of Chesapeake Beach, MD, Carrie Elizabeth (Brian) Salerno of Thornton, CO, David Michael (Heidi) Scott of Kersey, CO, Robert Edward Scott of South Riding, VA; 11 grandchildren, Scott and Alyssa Timko, Téa and Kayla Salerno, Christopher, Alexander, Daniel, Grace, Nicholas and Lillie Scott and Brandon Scott; one nephew and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Wayman King; and grandson, Mark Andrew Scott.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. all at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel in Evans. Cremation will follow the services.
