Obituary

Julia (Judy) Spotts, 86 of Greeley, passed away at Hospice of Northern Colorado on January 6, 2012
She was born as Julia Young on October 5, 1925 in Haigler, NE
Julia married James F Spotts July 16, 1945 in St Francis, KS and born to them were 2 daughters Beverly (Spotts) Hunker and Twila (Spotts)Spiker
Julia and James made Merino, Colorado home for over 30 years working for Perry Jay and Donna Pomeroy on their dairy farm. When her husband passed away in 1979 she decided to be closer to family and moved to Greeley in 1983.
Julia loved to crochet, sew, cook, bake, read, and really enjoyed gardening. She also was the true rock of her family and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her biggest joy in life was having her grandkids around all the time.
She will truly be missed, but God knew she was suffering and that it was time to be with him now. We realized when she left us we gained a guardian angel to look over us, but mostly to look over her great grandson Hunter Baker that has been battling bone cancer since last April.
Julia is survived by her 3 granddaughters Jennifer (Jim) Baker- LaSalle CO, Karla Spiker- Wiggins CO, and Dawn Spiker Wiggins CO. Also survived by 4 great grandchildren, Darla (Billy) Steel- Greeley CO, Ashley Carpenter- Greeley CO, Hunter Baker- LaSalle CO, Dakota Nichols- Wiggins CO and one great great grandson Ryder Steel. 2 sisters, Arlene Eskew- Imperial NE and Gwen Lytle- Arvada CO, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband James, both daughters, Beverly and Twila, 2 brothers, Jim and Alton, and grandson, Brent Hunker.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
