Obituary

Justin Wayne Hicks, 43, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2025, at UC Health Greeley. His sudden loss has left his family and friends heartbroken.

Born on January 19, 1982, to Keith and Fae (Epler) Hicks in Greeley, Colorado, Justin grew up in the Northern Colorado area, graduating from Poudre High School in Fort Collins. He lived in Fort Collins and Loveland before settling in Greeley in 2015. Justin was a man of many qualities. He had a remarkable ability to brighten any room with his infectious smile and laugh, and his humor—full of wit and sarcasm—was a constant source of joy. His love for life and his family was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent with his wife, Lana, and their two sons, Kye (6) and Kobe (13 months), as well as his son Payton Ruth (17).

Justin was also deeply loved by his parents, Keith and Fae Hicks, and his extended family, including his Aunt Debra Hicks and partner Jean, Uncle Dennis Hicks and wife Kay, and Uncle N. Kim Epler and wife Diane, along with many cousins. Above all, Justin was a devoted husband, father, and son. His family was his greatest pride, and he was a rock for them, offering wisdom, support, and unconditional love. He found joy in being a hands-on dad and often served as a figure of strength and guidance for those around him. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family. His loyalty and selflessness made him a steadfast friend and colleague. Whether offering a helping hand or lending a listening ear, Justin's presence was always a comfort to those who knew him.

Outside of family, Justin had a true passion for the outdoors. He loved playing golf and spending time in nature. His unique perspective on life, coupled with his sharp mind and strong physique, made him someone who approached every challenge with energy and enthusiasm. He never lost his childlike spirit and love for making people laugh and smile. Justin's sense of humor was so entertaining. H U M I N A. Justin's passing has left a void that can never be filled, but his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.

A celebration of Justin's life will be held at a later date.
