Kathleen Carol Altergott, 83, of Greeley, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at The Lodge in Greeley.
Kathy was born October 23, 1941, in Greeley to Ezra and Helen (Durr) Meyer. She grew up and received her education in Greeley, graduating from College High.
On September 5, 1959, she was united in marriage to Herman Altergott at the home of Pastor Martin in Greeley. They made their home in Fort Morgan and later returned to Greeley. Kathy worked as a flagger for traffic control with Herman for a while. Later, she worked as a teacher's aide for the next few years.
To keep herself busy, Kathy took classes at Aims Community College and learned about computers and bookkeeping. Kathy cared for the family at home for several years as well.
She was a member of St. Paul's Church, avid participant in activities at The Lodge. Kathy enjoyed crocheting, gardening and a devote bible reader.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Thurlow) Rogers; son, Michael Herman (Shana) Altergott; grandchildren, Mira (Dalton) Ruby, Jordan Altergott and Stephen Schuster; brothers, Richard (Deb) Meyer, Larry (Claudia) Meyer and Robert (Loretta) Meyer along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Altergott; daughter, Karen Altergott; her parents; and her faithful dog, Toto.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at St. Paul's Congregational Church, 1525 43rd Avenue in Greeley. Private inurnment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor at a later date.
