Kurt Richard Banks

Kurt was born in Pinedale, Wyoming on September 5th, 1959, to Janet and Don Banks. Both are deceased. He was born as the middle son of 3 boys. His older brother Jon currently lives in Albuquerque. His younger brother Dirk lives in Fort Collins.
The family moved to Fort Collins in 1960. Kurt was involved in many activities growing up. He competed in wrestling and football. Kurt was also a member of the High School Rodeo Association where he competed in Bareback Riding. He tried Steer Wrestling one time and declared he would never jump off of a horse deliberately again.
Kurt had 3 sons Jake, Danny and Drew. Kurt shared his love of bird hunting, golfing and cooking with his young sons. They still love doing all of those activities. Kurt was heavily involved in The Wild Horse Racing Association. The family went to many rodeos where Kurt was competing. The boys loved the camaraderie with the other contestants. It was like having a large extended family for them.
Kurt worked hard all his life. The Banks brothers had a lawn mowing business when they were young. Their business slogan was "You grow it, We mow it." In high school he worked for Kiefer Concrete and Parker Construction. Kurt was also a very talented jewelry maker. He loved crafting custom turquoise jewelry for friends and family. Kurt started in sales at Osborn supply. This was the start of his long career in sales. He worked for several companies. Kurt was currently working at Ace Hardware in Eaton at the time of his passing. He made many lifelong connections during his sales career.
A private family funeral will be held for Kurt. There will be an open memorial gathering at Bruce's Bar in Severance. The gathering will be on Sunday 11/3 from 10:30 to 12:30pm.
