Laurene Betty Hale, 83, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on August 21, 2013 at Hospice of Northern Colorado.
Born in Greeley on November 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Wallace John Sjoberg and Ermyle Marie Sjoberg. She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Hale of Greeley, two daughters, Kathy Hale of Greeley and Linda Shockley and her husband, Jesse, of Greeley. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Kimberly May of Greeley and Kyle Shockley of Honolulu, Hawaii, and one great grandson. Also surviving are her brother, Orville Sjoberg of Greeley, a sister-in-law, Beverly Sjoberg of Greeley, a sister-in-law, Phyllis Sjoberg of Brighton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Laurene graduated from Greeley High School and was married to Joe on April 2, 1949. They were married for 64 wonderful years. Laurene was a stay-at-home mother and loved to garden, fish, and camp. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Laurene's life at the Triple S Event Center at 901 35th Avenue in Greeley on Tuesday, August 27th, from 6 to 9 pm.
