Carl Laurie Larson, 84 of Ault went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 22, 2016.
Laurie was born on June 8, 1932 to Carl and Helga Larson in Greeley, Colorado. He attended Lucus and Columbine country schools. He later graduated from Eaton High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from November 1952 until November 1954.
He met the love of his life, Syvilla “Susie” Fraser and they were married on July 24, 1955 in Ft. Collins. They were married for 61 years.
Laurie farmed and fed cattle his entire life in the Eaton area. He was a member of the Eaton American Legion, the Eaton Lions Club and served on the board of directors of the Great Western Sugar Beet board. He was a lifelong Lutheran and was confirmed in 1946. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Ault.
Survivors include his spouse, Susie Larson; his children, Keith Larson, Diana (Kent) Seele, Bernice (Steve) Westerholt, Janine (Mike) Freeman and Doug (Pat) Larson; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister JoAnn Burr and a sister-in-law Sandy Powell; 2 nieces and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lenny Larson and a brother in law, Jake Burr.
Laurie was very loved and had many friends who will miss him. He would drop everything to take care of a friend in need.

A funeral service to celebrate Laurie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the First Lutheran Church of Ault, 402 Graefe Avenue in Ault. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the church. Private family interment will be in the Ault Cemetery.
