Laverna Winter's Obituary
LaVerna May Winter, 88 of Greeley, formerly of Eaton, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Meadowview Assisted Living.
She was born on September 27, 1930 in Greeley to Reuben and Freda (Weideman) Lebsack.
Laverna graduated from Eaton High School in 1948. She later married Eugene Winter on February 14, 1950 in Greeley. The couple farmed in the Eaton area for most of their lives, retiring in 1991.
LaVerna enjoyed time with family, bowling, camping, playing cards, and lunch with her friends.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Winter; 2 sons, Robert (Judy) Winter and LeRoy Winter, both of Greeley; 2 daughters, Diane Ditter of Greeley and Debra (Doug) Allen of Ault; a sister, Arlene (Ed) Foss of Gill; 9 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Eleanor Speaker, a son in law, Leonard Ditter, a daughter in law, Kathryn Winter and 2 great grandsons.
Graveside services to celebrate LaVerna’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2019 at the Eaton Cemetery.
