Lawanda Gail Bartz. June 7, 1939 – Dec. 24, 2009 Age: 70 Residence: Greeley She was born in Barnard, Missouri and grew up in Iowa. She moved to Greeley in 1955. On December 1, 1957, she married Donald Windecker, and together they had a daughter Debra and a son, Michael. They were divorced. In 1969 she began working for Safeway, and worked at the Greeley downtown store for 23 years until she became disabled in 1992. In 1973 she married Vernal Bartz. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was active in her faith. Survivors: Her beloved husband, Vernal Bartz; her daughter, Debra Gibson and husband David; her son Michael Windecker and wife Sele; three stepsons, Rod, Vaughn, and Lonnie Bartz; five grandchildren, Terra Okaly and husband Michael, Dustin Gibson and wife Sarah, Derek Gibson and wife Michelle, Dylan Gibson and wife Amanda, and Abigail Gibson; three great grandchildren, Zander and Kora Gibson and Sadie Gibson. All of these she loved and cherished, and she basked in the love they gave her in return. Preceded in death by: Her parents, John Goforth and Norma (Wolford) Goforth; brothers, B.D., D.L., and Max Goforth, and a stepson, Brook Bartz. Cremation. Services: The funeral service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4702 3rd Street, in Greeley, Colorado, on Saturday, December 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made at the Kingdom Hall to the Worldwide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses.
