Leah Melanie Brown, 87, of Eaton, Colorado, passed away at The Lodge at Greeley on Sunday, March 8, 2026.
She was born on December 3, 1938, in Chappell, Nebraska to William F. and Mary G. (Martin) Piller. She attended Ogallala schools, graduating from Ogallala High School in 1956. She soon met Stan Brown, and on August 23, 1959, they married in Ogallala.
In 1974, Leah and Stan moved to Eaton, Colorado. Stan started a State Farm agency, and Leah worked with him in the office from the time it opened all the way up until they retired. Outside of work and raising their two children, Shane and Linda, Leah loved going to church. She was a longtime member of the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton.
Leah is preceded in death by her husband, Stan Brown, and her parents, William and Mary Piller.
She is survived by her son, Shane Brown of Eaton, CO; her daughter, Linda Brown Smith of Fort Collins, CO; and grandchildren, Joe Rael of Pierce, CO, Lauren Sturch of Honolulu, HI, Gunnar Smith of Fort Collins, CO, and Spencer Brown of Laramie, WY.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, 1325 3rd Street, Eaton, CO 80615.
