Lee Dean Ivy, 74, of Greeley, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado.
Lee was born on September 26, 1937 to John Sherman and Verneal (Dowell) Ivy in Hawthicket, Arkansas. On June 16, 1973, he married Juanita (Jenny) Delgado in Mexico.
Lee lived in Sunnymead, California and worked for Sunnymead Poultry from 1965 until he moved to Colorado in 1982. His career included various mechanic and agriculture positions with Morning Fresh Farms and Mayer Produce. He also provided courier services to various credit unions
Lee loved Nascar racing, woodworking, mechanics, and CB radio. His handle was the "California Hillbilly".
Lee is survived by his wife, Jenny Ivy, 4 sons, Joseph & Fritzi Chacon of Lamar, Iowa, Paul Chacon of Sioux City, Iowa, Carlos & Irene Chacon of Roy, Utah and Lee "Punk" Ivy, Jr. of Greeley; 4 daughters, Alicia Browning of Lompoc, California, Donna Ward of Sweet Home, Oregon, Tina & Richard Kelleher of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Maria & Gabe Ivy Searle of Longmont, Colorado, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, 9 Grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Verneal Ivy, a sister, Mary Lou Forrest, a brother, Sherman Ivy, and a son in law, Jerry Browning.
A memorial service to honor Lee's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans.
