Leon F. Adkins, 73, Greeley, went to his Heavenly Father on December 6, 2011. He was born on May 31, 1938 to Cleve and Amy (Hay) Adkins in Antigo, Wisconsin. On November 21, 1959 Leon married Emily J. Larrabee in Racine Wisconsin.
He moved to Greeley from Eugene, Oregon in 1979 as administrator of Bonnell Good Samaritan Center. He managed similar facilities in Eugene, Denver and Albuquerque. Leon was always involved in church music, leading choirs wherever he lived.
Leon went on two mission trips to Guatemala. He enjoyed baking, playing piano and accordion, and his dog Sadie. He especially adored his great grandson, Weston. He was dedicated to his Lord Jesus Christ and his family.
Survivors: His wife, Emily Adkins, daughter Pam (Ken) Neet of Greeley, daughter-in-law Terri Adkins, grandchildren Kendra (Garrett) Brock, Cassie and Wendy Adkins all of Evans, Jeff (Kait) Neet of Lakewood, Sara Neet of Greeley, great grandchild Weston Brock of Evans. Preceeded in death by: His son, Perry Adkins March 25, 2011.
Services: Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Hope Centre Foursquare Church, 4754 31st Street.
