Leona K. Ruff, 95, passed away October 24, 2012 at Bonell Good Samaritan Society in Greeley, where she resided the last 10 years.
Leona was born July 23, 1917 in LaSalle, CO to Alexander and Annie (Miller) Deer. She married Fred Ruff, Jr. March 14, 1937, and they began their farming and cattle feeding career. Fred passed away at the young age of 46, January, 1962. She was a life-long member of St. Paul's Congregational Church.
Survivors include her son Douglas and wife Joyce Ruff of Greeley; daughter-in-law Dee Ruff of Arizona, her younger sister Marguerite Weber, sister-in-law Lydia Sitzman both of Greeley; grandchildren Shari and husband David Ottoson of Highlands Ranch, Steve Ruff of Dallas, Texas, Michael and Brian Ruff of Arizona and their mother Cindy Ruff. Leona had six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred Ruff, Jr, and son Gaylord Ken Ruff, sisters Pauline Lebsack, Clara Foos, brothers Alexander Deer, and Harold Deer.
Her memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29th at Linn Grove Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado in care of Moser Funeral Service.
