Liandra Benavides, 73, of Platteville, died on Saturday, March 7, 2007 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit in Greeley. She was born on February 27, 1934 in Quetaqua, Texas to Eufemio and Sarah (Zamora) Balderas. Liandra married Victor Villereal in 1956 and they had 2 children, Eloisa and Carlos. He died in 1959. She later married Edward Benavides on March 5, 1962 and they had 2 children, Mary and Norma Benavides. He died on December 4, 1979. She and her family moved from Texas to Colorado in 1966. She worked at Kodak of Colorado for 7 years from 1972 until 1979. She also worked as a nurses aide in Loveland and in Windsor nursing homes. Survivors include a son, Carlos Villereal and his wife Celina of Evans; 3 daughters, Eloisa Villereal and her husband, Antonio Aguilar of Platteville, Mary Almanza and her husband Robert of Platteville and Norma Villalobos and her husband Louis of Gilcrest; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 8 brothers, Marcus Balderas of Texas, Frank Balderas of Oklahoma, a twin brother, Leandro Balderas of Texas, Juan Balderas of San Pablo, Colorado, Luis Balderas of Texas, Benito Balderas of Texas, Uracio Balderas of Texas and Martin Balderas of Texas; 2 sisters, Martha Angiano of Texas and Teresa Martinez of Greeley, Colorado and 55 nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eufemio and Sarah (Zamora) Balderas and 2 sisters, Martina Valeria and Emma Zamora. A funeral service to celebrate Liandra's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at the Harvest Time Tabernacle Church, 3040 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Windsor. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m on Monday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans.
