Linda Lee Ellis passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021. She was 73. She was at her daughter's home with her daughter and grandkids.
She was born June 11, 1948, in Flint, Michigan to Kermit & Margaret (Golden) York. She married David Ellis who passed away in 1995. She moved to Arizona around 1977 with her son Ian Liljeblad. Her daughter Kristin was born in 1983.
In her lifetime, she attended college for respiratory therapy, spent a year in Switzerland, and then earned her master's in education. She taught in the Scottsdale School District in Arizona for many years. She taught at Kiva Elementary, Pima Elementary, and Pueblo Elementary. She started teaching kindergarten then 3rd grade, and ended with 1st grade, which she loved so much. Watching kids learn to read was her passion. Linda retired from teaching in 2012 and went right back to substitute teaching and helping the school.
She is survived by her daughter, Kristin (Neal) Sisson, son, Ian Liljeblad, stepson, Dan (Val) Ellis, 6 grandchildren: Neal Jr, Kade, Parker, Brody, Jacob, and David, her sister, Lynette Clayton, and sister-in-law, Janie Ellis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ellis, her parents, Kermit & Margaret York, and a sister Dee Peek.
Memorial donations may be sent to Kristin Sisson in care of Moser Funeral & Cremation Service, 3501 S. 11th Ave, Evans, CO 80620. The collective money will be donated to Pueblo Elementary.
There will be a celebration of life later in the fall.
