Linda Jeane Kennedy moved into her heavenly home on October 29, 2026.
Linda was born in Pasadena, California to William “Bill” C. Kennedy and Thelma Jeane (Einertson) Kennedy on November 30, 1952. She grew up as what is colloquially referred to as an “Air Force Brat”. Her life took her from Pasadena to Bainbridge ,Georgia; Tucson, Arizona; Miami, Florida; Honolulu, Hawaii; Naha, Okinawa; Wichita Falls, Texas; Edwards Air Force Base, California; and finally to Greeley, Colorado, when her father retired there in 1967.
Linda enjoyed an eclectic mix of activities. She lived in a roller rink when she was younger and also liked to ice skate. She loved skiing and was responsible for some of her nephews and nieces taking up the sport. She was an avid football fan. It didn’t matter if it was the pros, college or, especially, her nephews. She also enjoyed attending her niece’s volleyball games. She liked country swing dancing and rodeos. Linda was a voracious reader, loved libraries and had a passion for WWII history. She was into various crafts and enjoyed attending craft fairs. Linda loved road trips and never took a wrong turn. She always said that she was taking the scenic route. She loved Christmas music and would always decorate her tree on her birthday.
Linda is survived by her brother, Randy Sjustad and wife, Debbie, of Northglenn, CO; her brother, John Kennedy and wife, Nancy, of Longmont, CO; her sister, Sandra Ehrlich and husband, Ron, of Greeley, CO; her sister, Patricia Recknor and husband, Joe, of Greeley, CO; and her sister, Leilani Langevin and husband, Sid, of Parachute, CO; nephews and nieces (in birth order), Brian Kennedy, David Kennedy (Meridee), Shauna Boker, Gregg Filsinger (Talia), Stacie Meek (Brian), Katherine Hall, Amanda Nelson (Justin), Justin Sjulstad (Katie), Jamie Sinner (Lee), and William Sjulstad (Amanda); as well as many other great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jeane Kennedy; and by her nephew, Michael Tidquist.
The Lord and her family were very important to Linda. She was a charter member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Greeley, and served as their treasurer for many years. She always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone she met.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 950 43rd Avenue, Greeley, CO, with a lunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Women’s Ministry program at Shepherd of the Hills.
