Lois Ardene Bliss, 96, of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on January 25, 2024. She was born on January 16, 1928, as the youngest of 4 girls in Amherst, NE, to the late Arnold and Linda (Wuehler) Ray. Lois was a spiritual and hard-working individual who loved her family and her faith.
Lois was employed at Kaufmann-Wernert's, Kearney, and as a cook for present-day Midland University in Fremont. Lois was a flooring specialist at Brumley's Floor Covering before helping her husband with payroll at Gojo's in Greeley. Lois was known for her firm and determined work ethic.
Outside of work, Lois had a passion for traveling and exploring the world with her husband. She was a bridge, pitch, and cribbage enthusiast, always up for a friendly game with friends and family. Lois cherished her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always made sure to create lasting memories with them.
Lois attended Amherst Elementary and graduated from Kearney Longfellow High School. Lois and Roy "Bob" Bliss were married on Dec. 29, 1946 in Kearney, NE. Lois was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Greeley where she found solace and comfort in her faith. Trinity, located at 3000 35th Ave, will hold a memorial service to the glory of God on Friday, February 9 at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
Lois is survived by her sons, Douglas (Jeanne) Bliss of Greeley, David (Marcia) Bliss of Norfolk, NE, Robert Bliss of Greeley, and son-in-law, Thomas Athy of Lincoln, NE.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Bliss, on June 19, 2011, and her daughter, Jacqueline Bliss on July 13, 2023.
A celebration of Lois' life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue in Greeley, Colorado.
Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church & School or to the family in Lois's memory. Moser Funeral Service of Evans is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Lois will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, dedication, and faith will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
