Lois Mae (Dolly) Minney, 79 of Greeley died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her home.
She was born on January 9, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to Frank and Eula Merle (Anderson) Baand.
At age 6 months, she was adopted by Frank Baand and Merle (Anderson) Gaffney. She grew up in western Nebraska until she met Paige Minney in 1954 where she worked as a waitress. In 1955, the two were married. In 1957, they moved to Atwood, Kansas. In 1968, they moved to California. In 1979, they moved their family to Greeley, Colorado where she worked as a manager for Diamond Shamrock gas station until she fell and injured her back and had to retire.
Dolly's passion was playing bingo where she was loved by many. Dolly loved the holidays so she could cook for her family and spend time with them. She loved her grandchildren and spoiling them. Everyone who ever met Dolly either called her mom or grandma. She never said she had friends. She always considered everyone as her family. She loved everyone.
Dolly is survived by 1 daughter, Faith Davis and husband Roland of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 2 sons; John Minney, Sr. and fiancée Judy Fendel of Greeley, Colorado and James Minney, Sr. and wife Rose of Johnstown, Colorado, son-in-law, Roy Blevins, Sr. of Greeley and daughter-in-law Kathy Minney of South Dakota, 90 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.
Dolly is preceded in death by her husband, Paige Minney, a son Robert Minney, 2 daughters; Judy Blevins and Debbie Montes, 2 grandchildren; David Eric Minney and David Montes, and all her parents. A memorial service to celebrate Dolly's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2010 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A potluck dinner will follow At Stoneybrook Clubhouse, 435 N. 35th Ave., Greeley.
