Lupe Lagunas, 87 of Denver, formerly of Ft. Lupton, Colorado, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Kindred Health Care Center in Northglenn.
She was born on April 11, 1920 in Topeka, Kansas to John and Ruth (Armenta) Olmedo.
Lupe lived most of her life in Ft. Lupton with her husband, Victor Lagunas, until his death on September 28, 1976. At that time, she moved to Denver to be near her daughter.
Mrs. Lagunas was a past member of the St. Williams Catholic Church in Ft. Lupton. Her family fondly remembers Lupe for her skill and love of cooking for family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Scadden and her husband, John of Denver; 3 grandchildren, Lisa Soto and her husband Lolly of Denver, John Scadden, Jr. and Sheila Fitzgerald of Los Angeles, California; 4 great-grandchildren, Victor Soto and Manny Soto both of Denver, and Kellie Fitzgerald and Sean Fitzgerald both of Los Angeles, California; 1 great-great granddaughter, Sailea Victoria of Denver; 6 sisters, Lucy Rangel of Ft. Lupton, Geneva Torres, Irene Morales, Isabel Sanchez, Sophie Martel, and Helen Olmedo all of Denver and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor Lagunas, 3 brothers, Jesse, Manuel and Lloyd Olmedo and a sister, Essie Perez.
Recitation of Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday July 2, 2007 with A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2222 23rd Avenue in Greley. Interment will follow at the Linn Grove Cemetery.
