Lydia Ramirez, 72 of Greeley, formerly of Gardena, California, died on Friday, September 2, 2011 at Gray Cara Assisted Living in Evans. She was born on July 8, 1939 in Monterey, Mexico to Isabel and Paula (Villarreal) Ruiz. Lydia married Daniel Ramirez on June 5, 1960 in South Los Angeles, California. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2004. She later moved to Greeley from Gardena in 2006. Mrs. Ramirez worked for Hughes Aircraft in Torrance, California for 28 years. She loved bowling and golf and especially enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas with her husband. Spending time with her family and friends brought great joy to her life. Survivors include 2 sons, Darryl Ramirez of Whittier, California and David Ramirez & wife Patricia of Greeley; 3 grandchildren, Paula, David and Daniel Ramirez and her nieces and nephews, Elsa Journey, Samuel Ruiz, Millie Ruiz and Arlene Robertson. In addition to her husband, Daniel Ramirez Sr. she is preceded in death by her parents, Isabel and Paula Ruiz, a son, Daniel Ramirez Jr., a grandson, Darin Ramirez and 2 brothers, Samuel and Abel Ruiz. A funeral service to celebrate Lydia's life will be held at 12:30 p.m. today, September 4, 2011 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach, California.
