Obituary

Margie Stertz, 83, of Greeley, died on Friday, January 12, 2007 at the North Colorado Medical Center.
She was born on January 22, 1923 in Waco, Texas to Raymond and Mable (Johnson) Johnston.
Margie married Victor Stertz on January 3, 1945 in Denver. The couple raised their family in Westminster. They moved to Greeley in 1984. Victor preceded her in death just this past Monday, January 7th.
She worked as the assistant to the director of curriculum for Westminster School District #50. She retired in 1982. She was also a member of St. Paul's Congregational Church and she was active with the Ladies Aid and in the Sunday school classes there. Margie had a great passion for reading to learn and loved gardening.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Charlotte and Dan Roberts of Greeley; 2 sons and their wives, Thomas and Celina Stertz of Colorado Springs and Joseph & Phyllis Stertz of Madison, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Barry of Paonia, Colorado and a brother, Raymond Johnston. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Geraldine Norman.
A funeral service to celebrate Margie's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2007 at St. Paul's Congregational Church, 1525 43rd Avenue. Interment Linn Grove Cemetery. Private family visitation will be held.
Memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul's Congregational Church in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado.
