It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria Aurelia Bucio-Perez, a God-loving, intelligent, and devoted mother. Aurelia was born on September 25, 1945, in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico, and went home to be with our Heavenly Father on May 21, 2026. Guided by her Catholic faith, she dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Aurelia had a passion for sewing and lovingly designed many of her daughters’ outfits when they were young girls. She was an exceptional cook who enjoyed sharing her recipes and traditions with her daughters. Aurelia also had a wonderful sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.
Inspired by the faith of her late parents, Ausencio Diaz and Juliana Perez Diaz, Aurelia shared 49 years of marriage with her predeceased husband, Salvador Bucio. Together, they were blessed with six daughters.
Aurelia was an entrepreneur at heart and helped her husband build a successful small business in Mexico before their move to the United States in 1991. Although she dreamed of starting a business in the United States, she chose instead to devote herself fully to serving her family as a wife and mother.
Her greatest achievement in life was passing on the Catholic faith to her daughters and grandchildren, whom she prayed for daily until the end of her life. Aurelia was endlessly generous with her love, care, and support for her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply cherished, profoundly missed, and forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Bucio; her daughter, Araceli Bucio; and her great-grandson, Leo Mateo Pacheco.
She is survived by her daughters Olga, Teresa, Lizeth, Rubi, and Christy; her grandchildren Bryan, Noemi, Donovan, Hitzury, Jorge, Athziry, Giovanni, Kami, Liliana, Isis, Cristian, Salvador, Joscelynn, Vince, Uriah, Azariah, Noah, Ezra, Pablo, Leon, Luca, and Tynlee; and her eleven great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1000 Country Acres Drive, Johnstown, Colorado, with Fr. Patricio Chuquimarca officiating. Burial services will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, CO 80634. Juan Lara, Joey Hinojosa, Dylan Fisher, Jorge Quintana, Salvador Rojas, and Cristian Pacheco will serve as pallbearers.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Moser Funeral Service, 3501 11th Ave, Evans, CO 80620, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to join the family in praying the Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
