Maria Vergara de Ramirez, 72, of Greeley died on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at the Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder.
She was born on July 14, 1935 in San Antonio, Zacatecas, Mexico to Pasqual and Mercedes (Gonzales) Vergara. On January 28, 1954 Maria married Antonio Ramirez in Tlatenango, Mexico to whom she was wed for 53 years.
Mrs. Ramirez lived in Mexico until 1974, when she moved to Greeley, Colorado where she lived at the time of her death.
She enjoyed dancing and having her family over for parties. Maria especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Maria is survived by a husband Antonio Ramirez of Greeley; 4 sons and their wives, Sergio and Rocio Ramirez, Juan Antonio and Claudia Ramirez, Jose Manuel and Nayelli Ramirez all of San Antonio, Mexico, Oracio and Rocio Ramirez of Greeley, Colorado; 6 daughters and their husbands, Ofelia and Alejo Garcia, Olga and Armando Conchas, Maria and Luis Avilla all of Greeley, Colorado, Alicia and Fulgenico Santillano of Evans, Colorado, Veronica and Roberto Gutierrez of Boulder, Colorado, Oralia and Oracio Haro of LaSalle, Colorado; 3 brothers, Pasqual Vergara, Restituto Vergara, and Aristeo Vergara all of San Antonio, Mexico; 42 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd St., Greeley. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and a Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday September 10, at Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Ave., Evans. Internment will be at a later date in the San Francisco Cemetery in San Antonio, Zacatecas, Mexico.
