Marillyn Quick, 91, of Greeley passed away Sunday, February 23, at Grace Pointe in Greeley. Marillyn was born in Oak Park, Illinois to Petchians M. Brooks (Becker) and Raymond H. Brooks. She was raised in Springfield, Illinois and attended Stephens College and the University of Illinois where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. While at the University of Illinois, she met Robert M. Quick. They were married August 4, 1944 and resided in Northern Illinois until retiring to Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin in 1980. Llyn was an avid gardener, homemaker, and Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed cross-country car trips and keeping up with current events. Survivors include: daughter, Cynthia L. Quick of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Major Robb W. Witte (Kristine) of Ft. Campbell, KY, Jodi L. Witte of Los Angeles, CA; several nephews and nieces including Susan Brooks of Boulder, CO; and brother-in-law Hugh Douglas Quick (Ilene) of Bradenton, FL. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years and her brother, Captain Raymond M. Brooks. Private interment will be held in Laona, Wisconsin at a later date.
