Marilyn, L. Barden, 82, of LaSalle passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Fairacres Manor in Greeley.
She was born April 18, 1935 to Harold & Clara (Houston) Rasmussen in Greeley. She graduated from Pierce High School and taught baton twirling while attending. On September 15, 1954, she married Larry Allen Barden in Fort Collins, Colorado. Marilyn enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for children. She worked as a babysitter from her home. She enjoyed gardening, travel, and bowled for over 40 years. She was a 50 year member and past Matron of Eastern Star and Amaranth. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren/great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Barden, of LaSalle, sons, Rodney (Tami McClung) Barden of Eagle Rock, Missouri and Roger Barden of LaSalle, a daughter, Suzette (Lupe) Chacon of Gilcrest, 9 brothers, 2 sisters, 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Clara Rasmussen, her father and mother-in-law, Edwin & Wilma Barden, brothers, Gerald Rasmussen and Ronald Rasmussen, and an infant grandson, Brandon Barden.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 also at the Moser Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society or Eastern Star in care of Moser Funeral Service.
