Mark Allen Lusby, 60, of Greeley passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado.

Mark was born in Denver, Colorado on August 1, 1954 to Dr. Luther and Muriel (Thornsby) Lusby. In 1972, he graduated from Brush High School. He then started his career with the Ft. Morgan Assessor’s Office, where he worked from 1975 to 1980. On September 24, 1977, he married Debbie Whatley in Ft. Morgan. Together they settled in Greeley, Colorado, where they have lived since 1991. After working with the Ft. Morgan Assessor’s Office, Mark went on to work with Brown’s Shoe Fit Company from 1980 to 1990. In 1990, he then started working for the Weld County Assessor’s Office, where he stayed from 1990-2014, when his health no longer allowed him to continue working.

Mark attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley. In his extra time, he thoroughly enjoyed shooting and fishing, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters.

Mark is survived by his wife, Debbie Lusby of Greeley; daughters Erika Lusby Weizenegger of Greeley, Heather Lusby Jones of Johnstown, and Aimee Mathias of Colorado Springs; brothers Louis Lusby of Thornton, Bob Lusby of Commerce City, and Paul Lusby of Denver; and grandchildren, Madison and Rory Weizenegger of Greeley. He is preceded in death by his mother, Muriel Louise Lusby and his father, Dr. Luther Cecil Lusby II.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center Chapel, 708 22nd Street in Greeley.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Mark Lusby Memorial Fund, where the family will use the fund to donate to a charity close to their hearts.
