Obituary

Marlane Fay Curtis, 77 of Windsor, formerly of Eaton, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Lemay Avenue Health and Rehab center in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was born on September 26, 1936 in Fort Collins to Raymond and Elsie (Gamar) Hoffman. Marlane graduated from Adams City High School in 1955. She later married Raymond F. Curtis on June 24, 1956 in Denver, Colorado. The couple owned and operated Eaton Hitch and RV for 24 years. Mrs. Curtis was a longtime member and past board member of the Eaton Historical Society. She was also a member of the Eaton Area Chamber of Commerce and as a member in 1992 helped coordinate the town of Eaton Centennial Celebration. Survivors include her son, Tom Curtis of Windsor; a brother and his wife, Richard and Linda Hoffman of Thornton; a sister, Myrna Grannon of Ault; a sister in law, Joan Hoffman of Commerce City; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Curtis on March 11, 2012; a son, Timothy Curtis and a brother, Clifford Hoffman. A funeral service to celebrate Marlane's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Evangelical Free Church, 1325 3rd Street in Eaton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Private family graveside services will be held at the Eaton Cemetery at a later date.
