Obituary

Marlene L. Hamilton, 76 of Greeley, Colorado died on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at her home. She was born on March 11, 1932 in Tama County, Iowa to Louis and Frieda (Wagner) Schroeder. She graduated from the Tama High School in 1950. Marlene married Melvin L. Hamilton on April 14, 1956 in Davenport, Iowa. They lived and farmed in the Big Rock, Princeton and McCauslen, Iowa areas until moving to Greeley in 1980 where they owned and operated Triple H Hay Farm. She also worked for Big R. of Greeley from 1981 until 1997. Mrs. Hamilton attended the Kersey Community Church and also continued her membership with St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatland, Iowa. Marlene was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to cook, canning, dancing and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling to Germany to meet her family there and she also arranged for them to visit here in the states. It was very important to her that her friends be saved in Christ. Survivors include her husband, Melvin Hamilton of Greeley; 2 daughters, Marlo Hamilton of Greeley and Melinda Loloff and her husband Don of Kersey, Colorado; 2 sons, Mark Hamilton of Greeley and Mel Hamilton and his wife Kelli of Lowden, Iowa; a sister, Leola Wacha of Tama, Iowa; a brother, Calvin Schroeder of Tama, Iowa; a sister in law, Delhia Schroeder of Tama, Iowa and 4 Grandchildren, Cole Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton, Paige Hamilton and Seth Hamilton all of Lowden, Iowa. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Frieda Schroeder; a son, Monte Hamilton and a brother, Carl Schroeder. A memorial service to celebrate Marlene's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Kersey Community Church, 26221 W.C.R. #53 in Kersey, Colorado. Her urn will be interred at a later date with a service at the Wheatland Cemetery in Wheatland, Iowa. Memorial gifts may be made to the Kersey Community Church or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
