Marlon L. Horner, 57, of Kersey, died on Saturday, October 28, 2006 of natural causes while hunting west of Ft. Collins in the Pingree Park area. He was born on January 10, 1949 in Sterling, Colorado to Elmer Elsworth "Skinny" Horner and Darlene "Dee" (Roth) Horner. Marlon married JoAnn Knapp on May 12, 1975 in Loveland, Colorado. The couple have lived in Kersey since 1980. Mr. Horner worked for Ag-Land in Greeley before illness no longer allowed him to do so. He later owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Café in Eaton for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Horner of Kersey; a daughter, Thea Yeager of Kersey; a step daughter, Sheila Cook of Greeley; two step sons, Robert Wagner and Stanley Wagner both of Englewood, Colorado; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lanny Horner of Briggsdale and Byron Horner of Ault; 6 nieces and 5 nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dee Roth Edmonds; his father, Skinny Horner and a brother, Gary Horner. A memorial service to celebrate Marlon's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue. Memorial gifts may be made to the Marlon Horner Memorial Fund to be used for a charity to be decided later, in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
