Obituary

Martin Ludwig Frei, 76 of Greeley, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit.
He was born on March 16, 1932 in Denver, Colorado to Ludwig and Louise (Frederick) Frei.
Martin graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1951. He later married Viola Mae Rupple on February 8, 1958 in Greeley.
Mr. Frei worked on his parent's hog farm on East 8th Street for many years. He later owned and operated The Way Rubbish Company with his brother Clarence. He later went on to work as operations manager for BFI.
Along with his wife and daughter, Kerri, he showed Australian Shepherds throughout Colorado. He was a member of the Australian Shepherd Club for over 20 years. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Frei of Greeley; 2 daughters, Kathy Hergenreder and her husband Carl of Kersey and Kerri Frei-Olin and her husband Randy of Galeton; 2 sons, Rick Frei and his wife Jill of Loveland and Donald Frei and his wife Carole of Greeley; 3 grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa and Julia Mae; 2 sisters, Mary Stoll and her husband Robert of Greeley and Dorothy Hyatt and her husband Don of Henderson and a brother, Clarence Frei of Pampa, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gladys Mordhorst.
A memorial service to celebrate Martin's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th avenue in Evans.
