Obituary

Martin "Marty" Max Hill was born on August 21, 1957, in Greeley, Colorado, to William Hill and Arlene Preston. He passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the North Colorado Medical Center.

From the very beginning, Marty's life was filled with curiosity, laughter, and a love of learning - qualities that would define him for the rest of his life.

On July 27, 1979, in Greeley, Marty married his best friend and the love of his life, Holly. Together they built a beautiful life filled with family, laughter, and countless adventures. They made their home a gathering place - full of warmth, projects in progress, and people who always felt welcome.
Marty dedicated an incredible 47 years of his life to Eastman Kodak, which later became Carestream Health. His work ethic, dependability, and problem-solving spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with.

But Marty was so much more than his career. He was a man of many talents - a lifelong learner with hands that could fix anything and a mind that was always curious. He poured himself into the things he loved: coaching wrestling, leading Boy Scouts, helping at Cornerstone Community Presbyterian Church, and being part of the Men's Group. He found joy in building model trains, woodworking, restoring old tools, and spending time outdoors.

An avid shooter, fisherman, football fan, and history buff, Marty's interests were as broad as his heart was big. He was lovingly known by many names - Mr. Google for his endless knowledge, Papa for his deep love of his grandchildren, and Dad, Husband, Brother, and Uncle for the many roles he cherished so dearly.

His greatest pride and joy, however, was his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Holly Hill; his children Daniel Hill (Janell), Zach Hill (Courtney), Ryan Hill (Cassi), and Allison Brown (Walker); and his nine beloved grandchildren - Charlie, Finn, Leo, Rome, Jordy, Cooper, Reece, Hudson, and Holly - who brought light and laughter to every day of his life. He is also survived by his siblings Elaine Nielsen (Dale), Donald Hill, Ronald Hill (Deb), Kathy Hubbard (Benny), and Jim Hill (Kris), and by many nieces, nephews, and friends who adored him.

Marty's life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and generosity. Whether he was building something in his workshop, cheering from the sidelines, leading a project at church, or taking one of his famous "professional naps," Marty did everything with heart.

He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kindness, humor, and the way he made everyone feel seen and valued.

A celebration of Marty's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Cornerstone Community Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Cornerstone Community Presbyterian Church.

Though he may no longer walk beside us, the love, laughter, and lessons Marty shared will stay with us always.
