Marvin Ray Middleton, 86, of Greeley, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home.
He was born April 7, 1936, in Severance, Colorado to Walter and Zelma (Bittner) Middleton. He attended school in Windsor. He then joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 and served on cruisers in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1958.
Marvin worked in concrete for a while and then at Great Western Sugar Company. He then worked for Monfort of Colorado for about 20 years then went back to Great Western in Johnstown until Coors bought them out and started a corn syrup plant. He was instrumental in helping start it up. He later retired from Coors.
On July 29, 1960, he married Carolyn Colbert in Greeley. They became parents of three boys. Marvin loved to garden, fish, hunt, camp and travel. He always had a big garden and was a loving dad and grandfather and always had a smile for all.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three sons: Mark of Greeley, Robert of Billings, Montana, Brian (Debby) of Greeley; five grandchildren: Shandra Foust (Cody) of Iowa, Kati Deason (Brad) of Oklahoma, Brandon, Jaron, and Ryan of Greeley; one great grandchild, Brynn Foust of Iowa; his half-brother, Mike of Windsor, and his sister Bonnie of Pueblo.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Clint, Darl, Shirley, Arlene, and Phyllis; his parents, Walter and Zelma Middleton; and a stepdad, Casper Wolfe.
His life celebration will be at a later date.
