Marvin H. Ream, 90 of Greeley, Colorado died on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at his home.
He was born on August 26, 1917 in Marshall, Colorado to Harry and Ruth (Brierley) Ream.
Mr. Ream married Margaret E. McCargar on May 6, 1941 in Ft. Collins, Colorado. They moved to Greeley in 1942. He later served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1943 until 1946 where he received numerous medals and he served in the Signal Corps under General Patton. Upon leaving the Army, he received an award letter from Harry Truman thanking him for his service to our country.
Marvin worked as a motion picture operator for area theatres in Greeley and later he went on to work for the Montgomery Ward Department Store in service repair and as service manager until his retirement in 1982.
He attended the First United Methodist Church in Greeley until his health would no longer allow him to do so. He was also a life member of the Greeley V.F.W. Pioneer Post #2121 and a member of the Saratoga, Wyoming American Legion. He bowled for 50 years and during that time he won numerous awards.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret E. Ream of Greeley; his daughter and her husband, Maurene and Robert Asbury of Torrington, Wyoming; a son and his wife, Marvin G. and Rhonda Ream of Kersey, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Robin Asbury, Matthew Ream and Krista Ream. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ruth Ream; a brother, Bill Ream and 3 sisters, Gladys Kennedy, Alice Tucker and Charlotte Leverette.
Memorial services and military honors will be held at a later date in Saratoga, Wyoming.
