Mary Kay Brownlee, 41, of Greeley, Colorado died on Friday, May 19, 2006 at the Kenton Manor Nursing Home in Greeley.
She was born on August 26, 1964 in Grants, New Mexico to Herbert and Darlene (Alexander) Zimmett. She graduated from Syracuse High School in Syracuse, Kansas in 1982. She earned her Associates Degree in Pre Veterinary Science from Colby Junior College in Colby, Kansas. She later attended Kansas State University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in science and chemistry and went on to earn her D.V.M. from Kansas State.
Mary married Earl Brownlee on May 27, 1989 in Syracuse. They lived in Olathe, Kansas from 1990 until 1995 and later Broken Arrow, Oklahoma from 1996 until 2001. In 2001 they moved to Greeley from Broken Arrow.
Mrs. Brownlee worked as an associate veterinarian in Arkansas City, Kansas. She served as the Director of Veterinary Medicine for Wayside Waifs in Kansas City, Missouri. Mary was an associate veterinarian for the Windsor Veterinary Clinic until family responsibilities and her health would no longer allow it.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Brownlee of Greeley; a twin son and daughter, Jordan and Eden Brownlee, twin daughters, Gabriella and Kamie Brownlee and another daughter, Isabella Brownlee all of Greeley; her mother, Darlene Zimmett of Syracuse and her grandmother, Mary Helm of Syracuse, Kansas; 2 great uncles, 2 great aunts and numerous cousins. She Is preceded in death by her father and step mother, Herbert and Shirley Zimmett and her grandfather, George Helm.
A funeral service to celebrate Mary's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Grace Church, 6400 W. 20th Street. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. A second funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Syracuse United Methodist Church with interment following in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Kansas. Viewing in Syracuse will be from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church
