Mary L. Moran-Hettinger, 47, of Greeley, died on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the North Colorado Medical Center.
She was born on October 10, 1959 in Omaha, Nebraska to Gerald J. Moran Sr. and Joan Rosschaert Moran.
Mary's family moved to Greeley in 1971. She graduated from Greeley Central High school in 1977. She later attended Aims Community College where she earned her associates degree in accounting. She worked for Weld County Garage for 10 years as their accounts payable clerk.
She married Dennis Schwindt in Greeley on July 11, 1981. They later divorced. She later married Robert Hettinger in Windsor on September 3, 1993. They later divorced.
She loved spending time with her daughter Jennifer, and Son-in-law Eric. She also loved spending time with children and was an active volunteer teacher for Junior Achievement for many years. She will be remembered for her awesome cooking, her love of the mountains, camping, fishing and living in the country. She was an avid wheel of fortune player and she loved going to concerts and Greeley Stampede activities. She was well known for her arts and crafts. She had a huge heart and cared for everyone she met, this was evident by her dedication to the United Way. She most recently chaired the Automotive Division of the Campaign Cabinet leading a successful fundraising effort. For over five years she was Campaign Coordinator for the Weld County Garage employee campaign for the United Way. She was a caring champion, working to educate people on the importance and impact of United Way. She organized special events to get people involved and helped motivate people to contribute. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, co-workers and all of those whose hearts have been touched by her kindness.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Rocklage and husband Eric of Evans, Colorado; her mother, Joan Moran of Greeley; 2 sisters, Patti Schwindt and husband Kevin of Evans and Colleen Moran of Greeley; 3 brothers, Gerry Moran & wife Teresa of Platteville, Colorado, Steve Moran of Littleton, Colorado and Bill Moran of Greeley; numerous nieces and nephews and her adopted daughter and adopted granddaughter, Melissa Luttrell and Marley Luttrell both of Evans and she also leaves behind her best friend Chris. She is preceded in death by her father, Gerald J. Moran Sr. and 2 nephews, Matthew Walling and Patrick Moran.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Linn Grove Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S 11th Avenue in Evans. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
