Obituary

Mary Ann Weaver, 90, of Thornton, formerly of Greeley, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster.

Mary Ann was born on October 6, 1931, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to George J. and Barbara Helen (Stoces) Kucej. She grew up in Stuttgart, AR and Edwardsville, IL. In order to attend school, she worked fishing and as a live-in house maid to cook and help families. Mary Ann worked for the Railroad in Peoria, IL before she was united in marriage to Malcolm Bruce Weaver. To this union four children were born. They later divorced and she moved to Greeley in 1965. While working for a bank, Mary Ann attended the University of Colorado in Greeley to obtain her teaching degree and Master's Degree. She taught in the Weld County School District for many years until her retirement.

Mary Ann was a very loving mother, devoted school teacher, and all around very special person. She loved life, cooking, gardening, teaching her children to love, live and do right.

She is survived by her children, John Filmore Weaver and Malcolm Bruce (Brenda) Weaver, Jr., Elisabeth "Lisa" J. (Philippe) Gosselin; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren (with one on the way).

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joel Weaver; three half-brothers, Henry, Frank and Charlie Stoces; and half-sister, Bessie Stoces.

Memorial services will be held at a later date at the Fellowship Chapel in Greeley.
