MaryAnn Kain, 86 of Evans, CO passed away on Friday, April 12th, 2019 at North Colorado Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Frank and Nettie (Burnett) Sator. MaryAnn attended Fleming High School where she was a drum majorette. She later married the Love of her Life, Alvin, on February 6, 1958 at the First English Lutheran Church in Sterling, CO.
She was a dedicated homemaker for her entire married life. Her passions were cooking, gardening, making crafts and bowling. But her biggest passion was her family. Many will remember her for her cooking, baking and her beautiful flowers. Helping her with a project would usually result in her sending you home with a heartfelt gift of food. Cinnamon rolls, chicken noodle soup, cookies, whatever she decided to make you. She loved being a part of her children’s activities, whether as a girl scout leader or keeping score for Al's little league baseball teams. She never missed a softball or baseball game, choir concert, band concert, baton twirling program or any of the many other activities. MaryAnn was also very involved with her church, Redeemer Lutheran in Greeley. Everyone loved her for how kind and sweet she was to everyone and they even loved her when she was a little sassy.
MaryAnn also loved to travel all around the United States. She traveled mainly with her husband Al, and they were often joined on their trips by her sisters or brothers. Her favorite trip was to Hawaii with two of her sisters and niece. She fell in love with Hawaii and it forever kept a special place in her heart.
MaryAnn is survived by her children: Mary Horan of Evans, CO, Nancy and Tom Skouge of Greeley, CO, Kenneth and Lee Ann Kain of Erie, CO, Gregory and Angie Kain of Fayetteville, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sean and wife Marni Horan, Roni and husband Matt Kirchhevel of Arvada, Nikki Lara, Heather and husband Jason Phipps, Tyler Kain, Ashley Kain and Jeremy West, Lindsey and husband Alex Smith and Kara Kain. She is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alvin, her parents Frank and Nettie Sator, her brothers Lawrence, Paul, Donald and Robert Sator and her sisters Melba Carter, Ruth Sator and Virginia Freeman.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7263 W. 4th Street in Greeley. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Interment Evans Cemetery.
