Obituary

BAKER Max Baker, 77, of Greeley, died on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at his home. He was born on March 29, 1929 in Muncie, Indiana to Paul V. and Thelma (Harris) Baker. Max Moved to Colorado from Muncie with his Mother in 1931. He graduated from Gilcrest High School. Mr. Baker worked as a car salesman for various dealerships in Greeley, Windsor and Loveland. He enjoyed restoring old cars, collecting old books, antiques and collectibles. He was a black powder rifleman and he once rode with the Weld County Sheriff's Posse, he was also enlisted in the United States Navy at the end of WWII. Survivors include his wife, Beverlyn Baker (Harms) They were united in marriage June 23, 1968 in Greeley. Also survived by ; 4 sons, Donald Baker of LaSalle, David Baker of Missouri, Daniel Baker and Dean Baker both of Greeley; 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren; 2 step sisters, Dixie Walker of LaSalle and Janice Meyer of Loveland and a step brother, Harry Dean Strohauer of LaSalle. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harley Baker on December 28, 2005 and his uncle and his wife, Burt and Martha Harris and their daughter Sue Rymer. A memorial service to celebrate Max's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. Inurnment will be held at a later date . Military honors will be performed by VFW Post 2121, Greeley, Colorado. Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice and Pallative care in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620. .
